Elast-Gels Wound Care Face Mask Dressing has been proven to lessen tissue damage by reducing thermal inertia. Mask is variable for radiation thermal burns with similar results. When cutting the film, it is easier with the film in place. Be sure the mask is cut to appropriate size before applying for best results.

  1. Cut the mask to the desired size.
  2. Peel the clear film off the dressing.
  3. Align the mask and apply, then remove the second film.
  4. Take special care to ensure eyelash movement.
  5. Use the white cloth from packaging and place over dressing then secure with tie straps.
  6. First dressing should last about 8 to 24 hours. Second dressing should follow same procedures as first dressing.
  7. After wound care closure, apply moisturizing agents may improve the outcome.
  1. Swelling around mouth and eyes can occur during the procedure. If swelling occurs patient should be instructed to lie down every 3 to 4 hours and rest for 30 minutes before returning to the procedure.
  2. Itching 2 to 3 days after the procedure is normal
  3. Avoid getting dressing in contact with moisture
  4. If redness, excessive swelling, fever, etc. occurs then consult a physician for signs of infection.
